Panels

The 2018 conference will consist of 4 panels:

- PANEL 1 – Fundamental issues of metal forming amidst advancing technologies

This Panel will look at some important theoretical problems faced by metal forming industry which are hindering the development amidst changing dominant economic processes and arising new customer demands. As a separate subject, the participants will present their ideas about possible in-country substitutes for high-technology products with complex properties.

- PANEL 2 – Innovative metal forming technologies and materials

This Panel will look at the problems of developing innovative metal forming technologies. A special focus will be given to novel solutions for metal forming under developed plastic strains. The participants will also discuss the issues of ultimate deformability and failure of innovative steel materials.

- PANEL 3 – Advancing the theory and the technology behind high value added steel products

This Panel will look at the development of new and the optimisation of the existing high value added production processes. The participants will focus on describing the structural evolution of metals under strain and on the impact it can produce on the mechanical properties. The discussions will also cover the issue of theoretical discription of rolling, drawing, cross-wedge rolling, forging and other processes.

- PANEL 4 – Prospects of iSmart-Metallurgy

This Panel is about computer engineering technologies that are capable of building accurate models and structures instead of costly full-scale models. Various computer simulation techniques will be demonstrated, which also include multiscale modelling techniques that enable to predict changes of the stress-strain state, as well as the properties and the performance of metals under forming.
